Exciting Mittenz Stuff

So recently things with Mittenz have been AWESOME and really busy. Just to fill you in, we have a LOT of new songs, and have been working super hard to make sure that our summer shows are going to be EXTRA awesome for everyone! Our next show is on Fri May 11th at the Hideout in toronto. HIT LIKE A GIRL 2012

I have entered an ALL FEMALE drumming competition aiming to seek, support and celebrate the impact of female drummers, Hit Like A Girl 2012 is the first ever drumming contest for girls and women — sponsored by leading drum equipment companies Crush, TRX, Vater, Evans, and SKB, along with major drum media companies, including Tom-Tom: The Magazine for Female Drummers, DRUM!, and others. Sunday @ The Garisson

Performance Drumming

So i have some interesting news for you all today, i was approached via youtube by this drummer who was creating a site for 'performance drummers' i.e. drummers who do stick tricks / visuals. The site is to help people learn tricks and also share tricks with other drummers. i think the site is a really cool idea!! So the owner of the site, Lenny Vitulli has asked me to be apart of this awesome new website, of course i said yes! :D

Thursday Night @ Slacks

Last night (thursday december 15/2011) I had the pleasure of playing with Hayley Stark in Toronto at a wicked little bar called Slacks. It was the first time i played with Hayley Stark on full kit... ive played a few shows with them on the cajon but this was the first with full kit, people seemed to like it and i had a bunch of fun.

Randomly part way through the night while we were watching the lovely Anna Sudac play some awesome originals on acoustic guitar she asked me to come up on stage with her and play drums while she did a cover of Eminem's 'Without Me'. it was totaly unplanned and awesome!!! ... here is a short video of that silly performance :) enjoy!

Near the end of the evening after i had finished playing my set with Hayley Stark, the awesome Mia Moth did her thing. As soon as i got home i looked her up and she is REALLY AWESOME!!! here is a live video of her performing her song 'Block' 

So all in all it was a really fun night, great musicians, great little bar, great people! ... id do it all again for sure! :)
